Amid heatwaves, Pakistani TikToker sets forest on fire for content


Pakistan: Humaira Asghar, a TikToker from Pakistan, reportedly set a forest on fire with an aim to impress her fans has backfired miserably.

She has more than 11 million followers on TikTok was criticized by netizens on all social media platforms.Major part of Pakistan and India are still experiencing the scorching heat with the mercury levels not depleting any time soon. The effects of the climate crisis are in full action with millions of lives at risk across the subcontinent.

The month of April was India’s hottest in over 122 years and Pakistan’s in 61 years. Jacobabad, a city in Sindh province of Pakistan, experience 50°C temperature with minimum just above 30°C. This searing heat as proved fatal for dozens of citizens with the official figures not yet completely accurate.

Amid this crisis, Humaira Asghar thought it would be cool to display her hotness and fiery personality via a social media video with a caption, “Fire erupts wherever I am.”
