Italy earthquake felt in several countries
Italian officials said the quake was 8km (5 miles) in depth.
It was felt in Rome in the west and Bologna in the north-east as well as across the Adriatic in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The first and strongest tremor at 07:07 (06:07 GMT) was followed by a number of smaller shocks.

NASA launch of moon rocket delayed again by tropical weather
The rocket was moved back to the launch pad last week, and NASA was aiming for a launch attempt early Monday.
But on Tuesday, the space agency said it was delaying the launch until at least next Wednesday because of Tropical Storm Nicole, which is expected to hit Florida's Atlantic coastline as a Category 1 hurricane over the next few days. The space center is under a hurricane warning but NASA is keeping the rocket at the launch pad. NASA said the rocket is designed to withstand heavy rains and high wind.

Facebook-owner Meta to cut 13% of its workforce
The first mass lay-offs in the firm's history will result in 11,000 employees, from a worldwide headcount of 87,000, losing their jobs.
Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said the cuts were "the most difficult changes we've made in Meta's history".
The news follows major lay-offs at Twitter, which cut about half its staff, and other tech firms.
"I know this is tough for everyone, and I'm especially sorry to those impacted," he wrote in a statement.

Hollywood actor Sean Penn gives his Oscar to Zelensky
Zelensky awarded the actor with the Order of Merit of the III degree for his “sincere support and significant contribution to the popularisation of Ukraine in the world”.
Penn has won two Oscars, both for ‘Best Actor’ – one in 2004 for Mystic River, and the other in 2009 for Milk.
Penn visited Ukraine earlier this year to begin filming a documentary about political unrest and the ongoing war.
As a result, Russian authorities permanently barred him from entering Russia.

Medibank: Data stolen from Australia health insurance available online
The data of 9.7 million Medibank customers was stolen last month.
But a sample was released on Wednesday after the insurer refused to pay a ransom.
More data will be posted soon, the group claiming responsibility has said.
While millions had their data stolen, Medibank says the most serious breach was for around 500,000 customers who have had private health information taken.

Kamila Valieva case sent to Court of Arbitration for Sport
Valieva tested positive for the banned substance trimetazidine at the Russian national championships in December 2021 and the result was only made known on Feb. 8, a day after she helped her team win a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics.
Last month RUSADA said it would not release the results of the investigation into Valieva's positive test "in order to protect the interests" of the 16-year-old skater.
