IT'S COMING HOME! England beat Pakistan to win T20 World Cup
Ben Stokes played the protagonist in yet another massive white-ball occasion for England as they beat Pakistan to win the T20 World Cup 2022 - their second title in the format.

England bowlers gave a fine account of themselves after Jos Buttler won the toss to restrict Pakistan to just 137 for 8 at the MCG on Sunday (November 13) but their bowlers refused to bow out easily.

Stokes however, broke away in the 16th over when England still needed 41 off 30 and violently turned the tide in England's favour with an undefeated 52.

Iranian who made Paris airport home for 18 years dies
Nasseri lived in the airport’s Terminal 1 from 1988 until 2006, first in legal limbo because he lacked residency papers and later, apparently by choice.

He slept on a red plastic bench surrounded by boxes of newspapers and magazines and showered in staff facilities. He spent his time writing in his diary, reading magazines, studying economics, and surveying passing travellers.

Staff nicknamed him Lord Alfred, and he became a mini-celebrity among passengers.

Recession looms as UK economy starts to shrink
The UK economy shrank between July and September as the country heads into what is expected to be the longest recession on record.

The economy contracted by 0.2% during the three months as soaring prices hit businesses and households.

A country is in recession when its economy shrinks for two three-month periods in a row. The UK is expected to be in one by the end of the year.

The Bank of England has forecast a "very challenging" two-year recession.

Mozambique sends first LNG exports to help ease European winter crunch
For Mozambique - one of the world’s poorest nations - it marks the end of a decade-long wait to monetise one of Africa’s largest offshore gas fields. President Filipe Nyusi announced the first cargo’s departure in a statement Sunday.

The production platform has a capacity of 3.4 million tons per year of the super-chilled fuel - equal to about one-third of the UK’s LNG imports last year. The first cargo is bound for Europe, Mozambique’s oil and gas regulator said last month.

Israel’s Netanyahu officially tapped to form government
Elections earlier this month indicated a clear win for Netanyahu and ended the short-lived government that had ousted him last year after his 12 consecutive years in power.

The 73-year-old is currently on trial on charges of fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes in a series of scandals involving media moguls and wealthy associates.

US midterms: Democrats retain control of Senate after key Nevada victory
Senator Catherine Cortez Masto is projected to defeat Republican challenger Adam Laxalt, who was backed by former President Donald Trump. The results amount to the best midterm performance for a sitting party in 20 years. US President Joe Biden said he was incredibly pleased, and it was time for Republicans to decide "who they are". Democratic Senate Majority leader, Chuck Schumer, said the results showed the American people had rejected what he called the "violent rhetoric" of the Republican Party.
