Pakistan accused India was exploiting its membership in an important international grouping to advance its self-serving agenda. The neighbouring country also opposed India's move to hold two other consultative meetings in Leh and Srinagar.

Russia starts fuel supplies to Iran by rail
The Russian government announced the start of swap supplies of oil products with Iran last autumn, but shipments via Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan only began this year. Russia supplied up to 30,000 tonnes of gasoline and diesel to Iran in February and March.

Australia suspends WTO case against China on barley tariffs
China effectively closed it doors to Australian barley in May 2020 by imposing an 80% tariff after the previous Australian government angered Beijing by calling for an independent inquiry into the origins of and responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. The previous conservative government responded by challenging the tariff in the Geneva-based trade body.

Britain braces for 'unparalleled' disruption from doctors' strike
The British Medical Association (BMA), the union representing doctors, wants a 35% rise, arguing that members have suffered a 26% real terms cut in pay over 15 years. Tuesday's walkout followed a three-day doctors' strike last month.

Tupperware shares plunge as it warns of possible collapse
