Ukraine War: Leak shows Western special forces on the ground
The largest contingent is from Britain (50), followed by NATO members Latvia (17), France (15) and the US (14). It is unclear what the special forces are exactly doing, where they are or whether their numbers have consistently been at this level. However, the revelation confirms what many have speculated since the war began February last year.

Kalakshetra: Sex harassment claims shake top India dance academy
Last week, police arrested assistant professor and accomplished dancer Hari Padman after a former student lodged a complaint accusing him of sexual harassment.
It came after days of protests by more than 200 students of the institute, located in the city of Chennai in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. They alleged that sexual harassment had been going on at the campus for years and accused the administration of ignoring their complaints.

Syria and Tunisia restore diplomatic ties after a decade
Syria will reopen its embassy in Tunisia after the North African country announced the appointment of a new ambassador to Damascus, Syrian state media reported Wednesday. Tunisia has become the latest Arab state to reestablish diplomatic ties with Syria, after cutting off relations a decade ago.

Germany waters down plan to legalise cannabis after talks with Brussels
Under the new law, individuals would be allowed to acquire up to 25 grams of recreational cannabis per day and a maximum of 50 grams per month. For young people under the age of 21, the monthly allowance will be capped at 30 grams.

Andalusia considers more irrigation near Spanish wetlands
The DoƱana reserve covers 74,000 hectares (182,000 acres) on an estuary where the Guadalquivir River meets the Atlantic Ocean on Spain’s southern coast. It is a wintering site for a half-million waterfowl and a stopover spot for millions more birds that migrate from Africa to northern Europe. It is also home to five threatened bird species, including the endangered Spanish imperial eagle.
