G7 leaders to target Russian energy, trade in new sanctions steps
It comprises United States, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and United Kingdom. The G7 leaders' action on Russia comes as Ukraine's Western allies hunt for new ways to tighten already restrictive sanctions on Russia, from export controls to visa restrictions and an oil price cap, which have put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin but not halted the full-scale invasion that started over a year ago.

NYC converts hotels to shelters as pressure mounts to accommodate asylum seekers
Across the city, hotels like the Roosevelt that served tourists just a few years ago are being transformed into emergency shelters, many of them in prime locations within walking distance from Times Square, the World Trade Center memorial site and the Empire State Building. A legal mandate requires the city to provide shelter to anyone who needs it.

Turkey appears headed for runoff in presidential race as Erdogan performs better than expected
With 99.4% of the domestic votes and 84% of the overseas votes counted, Erdogan had 49.4% of the votes, with Kilicdaroglu, garnering 45%, Ahmet Yener, the head of the Supreme Electoral Board, told reporters. A third candidate, nationalist politician Sinan Ogan received 5.2%.

Nigeria’s Hilda Baci breaks Guinness world record for longest cooking time
Hilda broke the record which was previously held by Indian chef, Lata Tondon on Monday morning at 7:45 am.
Tondon had made meals for 87 hours, 45 minutes and 00 seconds.
However, as of the time of filing this report, Hilda has cooked for 88 hours, 19 minutes. She aims to cook for 96 hours.
