Drought: Agriculture must 'adapt to climate change'

Experts predict that a lack of regular rainfall and an increase of 2 degrees Celsius would cause Spain to lose 7% of its GDP, adding that global GDP would fall by 17% if global warming exceeded 3 degrees Celsius.

Drug traffickers smuggling crystal meth past South East Asia security - UN
High volumes of methamphetamine continue to be produced in Shan State, Myanmar and trafficked from there through Thailand and Laos as well as new routes through central Myanmar, the U.N. Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) said in a report.
Overall, authorities in Asia have seized nearly 151 tons of methamphetamine in 2022, a decline from 171.5 tonnes in 2021 partly due to the new routes, according to the report.

India train crash death toll jumps to 233, another 900 injured
The crash involved the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train.
The rescue operations are on and all hospitals in the nearby districts have been put on alert. Three NDRF units, 4 Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force units, over 15 fire rescue teams, 30 doctors, 200 police personnel and 60 ambulances have been mobilised to the site, Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep told NDTV.

Iran frees more Europeans after prisoner swap
Iranian authorities have released one Danish citizen and two people with dual Austrian-Iranian nationality who were unjustly held in detention in Iran, the European countries said on June 2.
Oman and Belgium played a role in the releases, which came days after the Islamic Republic freed a Belgian aid worker in exchange for an Iranian diplomat jailed in Belgium in connection with a foiled bomb plot.

YouTube stops deleting false 2020 election claims
The Google-owned video platform said in a blog post that it has taken down "tens of thousands" of videos questioning the integrity of past U.S. presidential elections since it created the policy in December 2020.
The platform will continue to ban videos misleading voters about when, where, and how to vote, claims that discourage voting, and "content that encourages others to interfere with democratic processes."
