Reddit communities to go private on Monday
Reddit is introducing controversial charges to developers of third-party apps, which are used to browse the social media platform. But this has resulted in a backlash, with moderators of some of the biggest subreddits making their communities private for 48 hours in protest. Almost 3,500 subreddits will be inaccessible as a result.

Fires intensify in Canada, could last 'all summer'
Nearly 17,800 square miles have burned since the beginning of the year, well above previous averages as the country warms quicker than the rest of the world amid climate change.
Canada's west has been particularly hit. After several days of respite, fires intensified in Alberta, where Friday night the town of Edson saw its second evacuation since May.

Twitter is refusing to pay its Google Cloud bills
Before Elon Musk's takeover of the social media platform last year, Twitter signed a multi-year contract with Google related to fighting spam and protecting accounts, among other things, the report said.
Since Musk's acquisition, Twitter has cut costs dramatically and laid off thousands of employees. Musk ordered the company to cut infrastructure costs, such as spending on cloud services, by $1 billion, a source had told Reuters in November.

Mali's sole passenger train resumes service after a 5-year hiatus
Mali's passenger train service, links capital Bamako with west of the country.
The service resumption comes after several test trips on the Malian section of the Dakar-Bamako line. The Bamako-Kayes line is part of a track completed in 1924 under French colonial rule linking Bamako with the Senegalese capital, 1,286 kilometres away.

Following owners, thousands of cattles evacuated away from restive Philippine volcano
On Sunday morning, throngs of people jogged or biked, joined a group dancing to disco music and walked their dogs in a seaside promenade in Albay’s capital city of Legazpi. About 14 kilometers (8.6 miles) away, the volcano lay hidden in thick clouds.
