Hindenburg shorts India’s Adani Group, cites debt and accounting concerns
Hindenburg, known for having shorted electric truck maker Nikola Corp and Twitter, said it holds short positions in Adani companies through U.S.-traded bonds and non-Indian-traded derivative instruments.
Its research report questioned how the Adani Group has used offshore entities in offshore tax havens like Mauritius and the Caribbean Islands.
It also said key listed Adani companies had “substantial debt” which has put the entire group on a “precarious financial footing”, and asserted that shares in seven Adani listed companies have an 85% downside on a fundamental basis due to what it called “sky-high valuations”.

London-sized iceberg breaks off Antarctica - but scientists aren’t worried
The huge iceberg - which measures more than 1,550 square kilometres - broke away from the 150 metre thick Brunt Ice Shelf on Sunday.
The good news is that the split is a natural process known as ‘calving,’ and is not linked to climate change, the British Antarctic Survey say.
The new berg is the second iceberg to break off in two years, as a massive crack called ‘Chasm-1’ extends through the Brunt ice shelf.

Google being sued in US over allegations of monopolising online advertising
The DOJ sued Google for similar reasons in 2020, accusing it of illegal monopolization of the search and ad markets. At the time, the agency asked the court to “break Google’s grip on search distribution so that competition and innovation can take hold.” Earlier this month, Google filed a motion to dismiss a complaint from the agency that alleges Google leverages its Android operating system and general grasp on the search market to further limit competition in the industry.

Turkey's President Erdogan tells Sweden not to expect backing for its NATO bid after Quran burnt
Swedish leaders roundly condemned far-right politician Rasmus Paludan's actions but defended their country's broad definition of free speech.
The protest further jeopardised Sweden's attempt to join NATO in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Erdogan has already set tough conditions for backing the joint bids by Sweden and its Nordic neighbour Finland.
