Brazil's Lula calls Bolsonaro a Trump 'copycat' in CNN interview
During the interview in Washington ahead of a meeting with U.S. President Biden, Lula said that he would not ask the United States to extradite Bolsonaro - who has been in Florida since the end of December - as any such request would be up to Brazil's judiciary.
But Lula said he hopes the former president will be convicted of genocide by an international court for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic that killed 698,000 Brazilians.

In aging China, a call for 'bold' steps to cut cost of having babies
China's population fell last year for the first time in six decades, data released last month showed, a historic turn that is expected to mark the start of a long period of decline.
In addition to that is the prospect of a rapidly ageing population slowing the economy as revenues drop and government debt increases because of soaring health and welfare costs. Demographers warn that China might get old before it gets rich.

U.S. shoots down car-sized unidentified object flying above Alaska
A US F-22 fighter jet on Friday shot down an unidentified object flying high over Alaska, US officials said, less than a week after the military brought down a Chinese balloon that had flown across the United States.
President Joe Biden ordered the shootdown, which was announced from the White House.

Belarus calls Poland's closing of border crossing point 'catastrophic'
Poland has become a key refuge for opponents of President Alexander Lukashenko and Warsaw has become one of Kyiv’s staunchest supporters since Belarus’ main ally Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
After the closure comes into force, only two of six major land crossing points along the two countries’ 400-km (249 mile) border will be open, Belarus’ border force said in a statement.

Charles's coronation emblem revealed, showing British king's love of nature
The rose of England, the thistle of Scotland, the daffodil of Wales and the shamrock of Northern Ireland form a picture of St. Edward’s Crown, which will be placed on the new king’s head when he is crowned on May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
The emblem revealed by Buckingham Palace on Friday (local time) is rendered in the colours of the Union flag, with the crown depicted in blue surrounded by further drawings of the four plants in red, all on a white background.

Cyprus probes washed up dead whales, earthquake link possible
Authorities identified the whale as ziphius cavirostris, or more commonly known as Cuvier's beaked whale. It is not very common offshore Cyprus.
