Cristiano Ronaldo becomes world's highest paid athlete after Al Nassr move - Forbes
Ronaldo, who joined the Saudi soccer club on a deal until 2025 after leaving Manchester United last year, earned $136 million with Forbes saying his annual playing salary went up to an estimated $75 million. Ronaldo's contract has been estimated by media to be worth more than 200 million euros ($219.98 million).
PSG forward Messi, 35, was next on the list after bringing home a combined $130 million while club teammate and France captain Mbappe -- the youngest on the list at 24 – earned $120 million to sit third.

Kremlin accuses Ukraine of trying to assassinate Putin
Two Ukrainian drones crashed into the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Wednesday morning, the press service of the Russian government said.
The unmanned aircraft struck the Kremlin after being taken down by electronic-warfare systems, the Kremlin said, noting that there were no casualties or material damage.

Global warming could curtail life in the so-called twilight zone by as much as 40% by the end of the century, according to new research. The twilight zone lies between 200 metre and 1000 metre. It teems with life but was home to fewer organisms during warmer periods of Earth's history, researchers found.

Child marriage rate falling too slowly, UN says in new report
In the report published on Tuesday, UNICEF estimates that some 640 million girls, teens and women today were married when they were below the age of 18. At present, an estimated 12 million girls and teens are becoming brides each year, it added.
Over the past 25 years, the rate at which such marriages take place has been slowing. In 1997, 25 percent of young women aged 20 to 24 were married before 18.
