Qatar World Cup: FIFA 'made false statements' about carbon-neutral tournament
FIFA, based in Zurich, said the Qatar World Cup had a footprint of 3.6 million tonnes of equivalent carbon waste, which was offset by a number of initiatives, such as offsetting every ticketholder's flight emissions, along with several other schemes such as electric mobility for public transport around the tournament.
The United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Belgium and the Netherlands all challenged the statement with the SLK upholding each complaint "following an arduous and complex process".

Donald Trump indicted on 7 charges over classified documents case
Former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to mishandling classified White House documents that were recovered at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
The 76-year-old ex-president announced the news in a Thursday night Truth Social post shortly after prosecutors informed his lawyers about the indictment, a source familiar with the matter told the Associated Press.

Ethiopia: US agency suspends food as drought grips country
The United States Agency for International Development said Thursday it has suspended all food aid to Ethiopia, Africa's second most-populous country, after an internal investigation found donated food intended for millions of hungry people there was being diverted on a “widespread” scale.
